This bike pulls easy wheelies. I am looking for a custom cut 5th gear set so the bike can pull a true 100mph. At the other end is the smallest Aero(turbo) Charger that is made. I expect about 5 to 7 pounds boost at the current 8.5:1 comp ratio. I will probably need a decent remap of the electronics as well as a re-route of the exhaust plumbing. Advice and comment is welcome.
The bike has over 2,300 miles on the odometer and seems to impress alot of folks for its small size. I am 6'-3" tall and although my knees are at the tank, I have no ploblem cutting figure eights at low speed on a narrow street.
The bike is light and nimble, making short work of the Experienced Rider Course nearby. The side clearance is poor but the chrome foot peg end plates and rubber wears off quite well.
No dumps so far.
I just like singles and want to get some good snap off the line on a single. The BSA was great but had real oil leak and maintenance problems. I do not prefer water cooled engines or multi cylinder bikes. The LS engine and its bearing supports seem very rugged and may yeild enough room for a fith gear tooth change. If not, the belt pulleys will need to be replaced with customs.
I may also try to shorten the wheel base.
The turbo and gear change spell $. Money is not the point. My point is to make a 'single' of which I and other Savage owners can say, "that's what can be done".
If you have gotten a cam, pulleys, carb, port and polish or other tweeks to the thumper let me know please. I would like to hear how your modifications worked. Best to Y'all, George M
